Cornwall Central extended the longest winning streak in Section 9 A this week by beating Wallkill, 38-24. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Dragons.
Port Jervis made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,482 from 9,905. The improvement came about via a 28-9 victory over Monticello last week.
Cornwall Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mike White has thrown for 1081 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Alex Cruz has 15 catches for 340 yards. Luke Zsido leads the league in rushing with 465 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Raiders take on Cornwall Central. As it stands, Port Jervis is in third, while Marcus Hughes' team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Raiders take on the Dragons. Port Jervis has allowed 127 points this season, while Cornwall Central has given up 73.
