The Skyline Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Horizon Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Skyline had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Montbello on Saturday. The Falcons blew past the Warriors 15-3. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant victory of the season.
JD Wright made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matt Lanier, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Skyline is undefeated when Lanier posts three or more RBI, but 2-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Roberts, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Horizon came into Monday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Denver North get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Monday. The Hawks not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024.
Parker Aaron was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Aaron was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one stolen base. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Cooper Brennan was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Maxton Sosa, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Skyline's record is now 5-7. As for Horizon, their record now sits at 2-7.
