Even though the Plainview Pirates have not done well against the Stanton Mustangs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Plainview took down Stanton 43-29. Winning may never get old, but Plainview sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plainview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abbie Kromarek, who scored 15 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kromarek has scored at least a third of Plainview's points. Teya Boyer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Plainview has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Stanton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainview will take on Hartington-Newcastle at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartington-Newcastle will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Stanton, they will head out on the road to square off against Twin River on Tuesday. Twin River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Stanton is ranked 105th).
