The Dell City Cougars were the 55-51 winner over the Sierra Blanca Vaqueros when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Dell City fell to Sierra Blanca 67-62. Dell City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Dell City still got an impressive performance from Reyes Espinoza, who scored 32 points along with six steals. The game was Espinoza's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Estrada, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Dell City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Sierra Blanca, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dell City will take on Balmorhea at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sierra Blanca, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marfa at 7:30 p.m.
