Basketball Recap: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Triumphs

Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion beat the John Paul II Catholic Saints 46-41 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lion.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill found their leader in sophomore Cannon Close, who shot 67% from the field en route to 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Close has scored all season. Josh Worsham was another key player, putting up nine points.

Loss or not, John Paul II Catholic got some senior leadership from Drew Lysaght and Micah Gray-Hundell. Lysaght posted nine points, while Gray-Hundell put up three points and eight boards.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for John Paul II Catholic, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill has already played their next contest, a 48-24 defeat against North Raleigh Christian Academy on the 2nd. As for John Paul II Catholic, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pungo Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
