The Bruce Trojans had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They really took it to Water Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-24 win at home. That looming 71-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bruce yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bruce to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jay Cole Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Williams pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashton Pierce, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Bruce's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16. As for Water Valley, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Bruce will challenge Calhoun City at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Calhoun City will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Bruce surely won't give up without a fight. Water Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
