Even though the Gibbs Eagles scored an imposing 64 points on Friday, the Halls Red Devils still came out on top. Halls put the hurt on Gibbs with a sharp 88-64 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Halls.
Halls found their leader in underclassman Gabe Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 assists. Another player making a difference was Chandler Gamble, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Gibbs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zack Turner. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Turner scored a full 35.9% of Gibbs' points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Chase Norman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The win got Halls back to even at 3-3. As for Gibbs, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Halls' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. Seymour will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 369th, while Halls is ranked 180th). As for Gibbs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carter at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Carter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
