On Tuesday, Moon Valley narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Williams Field 56-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Moon Valley.
Moon Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevin Gray led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Gray's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eddie Boone, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
The victory got Moon Valley back to even at 5-5. As for Williams Field, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Moon Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dysart at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. Dysart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Moon Valley likes a good challenge. Williams Field and Mountain Ridge will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Mountain Ridge is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
