Basketball Recap: Boonville Piles Up the Points Against Eldon

Boonville extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 15-3. They breezed past the Eldon Mustangs to the tune of 77-24. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

As for Eldon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Boonville is ranked 36th).

Despite the loss, Eldon still got an impressive performance from Corin Davis, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 10 points and six boards. Davis is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Eva Fitzpatrick also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first rebounds of the season.

Boonville has already played their next contest (against California), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Eldon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-48 defeat against Stover on the 11th.
