Baseball Recap: Seneca Extends Winning Streak to 13

Seneca waltzed into their game on Saturday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Potosi/Cassville, sneaking past 6-4.

Dawson Davidson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tucker Ducharme was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jackson Konichek, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Seneca pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Potosi/Cassville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Seneca will be playing at home against Ithaca at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Potosi/Cassville, they will head out to face off against Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
