The St. Albans Red Dragons came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 57-39 win over Winfield. That's two games straight that St. Albans has won by exactly 18 points.
Winfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ashlee Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Cole, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
St. Albans is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Winfield, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10.
St. Albans will challenge Parkersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winfield, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Scott at 2:00 p.m. Hopefully Winfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday.
