The biggest upset of the week belonged to Jefferson, who took down 155th ranked Clear Creek, 44-10.
Platte Canyon extended the longest winning streak in 1A Metro this week by beating Estes Park, 61-12. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Huskies.
Denver Christian's dynamic duo of Tate Kastens and Forrest Sanderson proved tough for Nederland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kastens threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns and Sanderson had 106 yards receiving. Jacob Monsma helped Denver Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 60 yards.
Jake Robl was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 172 yards as Platte Canyon beat the Panthers. Teammate Hunter Grivna-Bode added to the ground attack by rushing for 142 yards.
Will Kernc made the biggest impact on defense this week as Front Range Christian lost to Lyons. The 6-foot-0 junior recorded one fumble.
6-foot-4 quarterback Kastens of Denver Christian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 670. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, the Huskies' Grivna-Bode has rushed for 854 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tevin Lucas. The Clear Creek star has 14 catches for 259 yards.
A big matchup in 1A Metro this week will be when Platte Canyon takes on the Saints. As it stands, the Huskies are in first, while Jefferson is in fourth.
Platte Canyon led the league in scoring this week after putting up 61 points on the Bobcats. Robl in the win.
