There's no place like home for Waterloo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Belmont Cardinals with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Georgiana Kavich was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sarah Allen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Maddie Morris also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
The victory snapped Waterloo's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 21-10 record. As for Belmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Waterloo will take on Hatton in a tournament on Friday. Belmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
