Mount St. Mary Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Mount St. Mary Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 58-30 win over Buffalo Seminary at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Mount St. Mary Academy had established a 26 point advantage.
Meanwhile, West Seneca West entered their tilt with the Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. West Seneca West came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 49-42 on Monday. Given West Seneca West's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Seneca West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Gunnells, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Ecker, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mount St. Mary Academy's record now sits at 5-7. As for West Seneca West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
