Coatesville is 1-9 against Downingtown West since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Red Raiders will host the Whippets at 6:45 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Coatesville 3.6, Downingtown West 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Coatesville will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Henderson on Friday. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Red Raiders have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracelynn Landis spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jillian Wimmer was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Fegley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Coatesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Henderson only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Downingtown West was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of East by a score of 3-1.
Addison Carter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk).
Downingtown West's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Coatesville, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Coatesville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Downingtown West struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
