Having just played yesterday, the Kellogg Wildcats will get right back to it and host the Lakeland Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Lakeland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kellogg, who comes in off a win.
Kellogg put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Maries 58-20 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Kellogg has managed all season.
Macy Jerome continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Emily Coe was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Lakeland came up short against Sandpoint on Friday and fell 49-41. While losing is never fun, Lakeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Sandpoint is ranked sixth).
Kellogg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Lakeland, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-8.
Kellogg was taken down by Lakeland 65-38 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Kellogg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
