It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Dos Palos Broncos had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They strolled past Santa Maria with points to spare, taking the game 45-28. The win was familiar territory for Dos Palos who now have ten in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dos Palos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andre Flores, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns. Peyton Van worth was another key contributor, throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Although Santa Maria took the loss, they still got scores from Javier Delgadillo and Frankie Alcala.
Dos Palos pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points per game. As for Santa Maria, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Dos Palos will stay at home for another week and welcome Exeter at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Exeter will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. Santa Maria does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
