Even though the Eagle Valley Devils scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the Grand Junction Tigers still came out on top. Grand Junction skirted past Eagle Valley 65-63. With that win, Grand Junction brought their scoring average up to 50.9 points per game.
Grand Junction's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brett Woytek, who scored 12 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Woytek has scored all season. Brady Page was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two blocks.
Eagle Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brian Fontana, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Dylan Zoller, who scored 17 points.
Grand Junction's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Eagle Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Junction will challenge Fruita Monument at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fruita Monument will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Eagle Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Montrose at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Montrose focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
