The Myers Park Mustangs are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Ardrey Kell Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in Myers Park's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
Myers Park can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past Palisades 66-30 on the road. Given Myers Park's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Pumas are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sadiq White Jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bishop Boswell, who scored ten points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Berry scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Ardrey Kell still came out on top. Ardrey Kell took down the Cardinal 72-57. The win was familiar territory for Ardrey Kell who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Delani Hammonds, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Brett Freeman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Myers Park pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Ardrey Kell, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Myers Park strolled past the Knights in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 54-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Myers Park since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
