The Franklin Academy Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Falls Lake Firebirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Franklin Academy comes in on five and Falls Lake on four.
In what's become a running theme this season, Franklin Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. Everything went their way against River Mill as Franklin Academy made off with a 62-39 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Pace, who scored 14 points along with five assists. Hayes Lewis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though Falls Lake has not done well against NCSSM: Durham recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Falls Lake took down NCSSM: Durham 61-46.
Franklin Academy pushed their record up to 18-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Falls Lake, their win bumped their record up to 11-15.
Franklin Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Falls Lake when the teams last played back in January, winning 79-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
