Given Central Valley Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Norwich is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Valley Academy had a senior duo take command as Deacon Judd dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds and Tom Jacquays shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Judd has scored at least 25% of Central Valley Academy's points. Will Luke was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Central Valley Academy's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Norwich, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Central Valley Academy and Sauquoit Valley will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. As for Norwich, they will square off against Charlotte Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Charlotte Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Norwich likes a good challenge.
