Jefferson-Morgan will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Carmichaels, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Jefferson-Morgan breezed by Carmichaels to the tune of 68-27 on Saturday. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.
Jeremiah Robertson had a dynamite game for Jefferson-Morgan, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Jase Bedilion was another key player, going 8 of 11 on his way to 18 points.
Jefferson-Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, West Greene was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 47-20 loss at the hands of Bentworth. The game marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Allison was West Greene's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Matthew Wassil held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Patrick Durbin took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Jefferson-Morgan pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for West Greene, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Jefferson-Morgan has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.3 boards per game. However, it's not like West Greene struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
