After flying high against the Lake City Trojans last Friday, The Manistee Chippewas came back down to earth. Manistee lost to Kingsley on the road by a decisive 37-18 margin on Friday.
Several Chippewas players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nick Hornkohl, who rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Kaden Kott, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Manistee's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Kingsley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Manistee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kingsley will be playing at home against Gladstone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gladstone will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
