Lincoln County has gone 10-0 against Laughlin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lincoln County Lynx are taking a road trip to challenge the Laughlin Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Lincoln County is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Lincoln County will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 27) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. It was another big night for Kalen Bart, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowdy Lloyd, who put up 16 points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laughlin). They came out on top against Lake Mead Christian Academy by a score of 56-46 on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Laughlin's win came from a few key players Lincoln County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was DaVinci Faccioli, who had 12 points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Trinidad-Rodriguez, who went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points and three steals.
Laughlin was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lincoln County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Laughlin, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-5.
Friday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Lincoln County has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 36.3 boards per game. It's a different story for Laughlin, though, as they've been averaging only 14.4 boards. Given Lincoln County's sizable advantage in that area, Laughlin will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lincoln County strolled past Laughlin when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 62-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
