Parkland and Hanks are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Matadors are taking a road trip to face off against the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Parkland's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Horizon as they made off with a 15-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Matadors as they're now sitting on five straight.

Samantha Martinez and Sophia Villarreal made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Martinez tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Villarreal pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Martinez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Martinez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Villarreal went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
In other batting news, Parkland got a big performance out of Emilly Sanchez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alina Castro, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Parkland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Hanks made easy work of Horizon on Friday and carried off a 15-3 win.
Jessie Hellwig spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Melanee Martinez was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jayden Rivas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Parkland's record now sits at 19-4. As for Hanks, their record is now 9-14-1.
Hanks' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Parkland has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. It's a different story for Hanks, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Parkland's sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
Parkland got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Hanks by a conclusive 11-4 score. Will the Matadors repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
