The Centennial Golden Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 97-57 win over Garces Memorial at home. Centennial has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centennial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rippen Gill, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gutierrez, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and four steals.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Centennial, bringing their record for this year to 22-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Garces Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Frontier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 114th). As for Garces Memorial, they will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Stockdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
