Basketball Recap: Chillicothe's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Chillicothe was feeling good fresh off their 53-23 takedown of Brookfield last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chillicothe Hornets took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop LeBlond Eagles on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Eagles are ranked 18th).

Despite the loss, Chillicothe still got an impressive performance from Jaishon White, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. White has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Kenyen Gannan was another key player, putting up six points along with seven assists and six boards.

Even though they lost, Chillicothe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Chillicothe's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Bishop LeBlond, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Chillicothe will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Penney at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Bishop LeBlond, they will square off against Mid-Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
