Combs has been on the road for five straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Combs has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 363 points over their last five matches.
Even though Vista Grande scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Combs still came out on top. Combs took down Vista Grande 77-61. Given Combs' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Vista Grande is ranked 108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jae Lujan, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 2 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Combs' points. Another player making a difference was Logan Tuckfield, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Red Mountain made easy work of Rincon/University on Tuesday and carried off a 77-51 win.
Combs' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Red Mountain, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
