Baseball Recap: Seminary Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Seminary put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Crystal Springs. Seminary blew past Crystal Springs 18-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Caleb Bryant was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gage Lott, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tucker Hux, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Seminary was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was Seminary's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Crystal Springs, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seminary will welcome West Jones at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Crystal Springs, they will face off against Natchez at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Crystal Springs is facing Natchez at the right time seeing as Natchez is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
