The Pike Valley Panthers can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They breezed by Natoma at home to the tune of 52-22. With Pike Valley ahead 27-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Pike Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Breanna Reeves led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Reeves has scored at least a third of Pike Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Martin, who scored 12 points.
Natoma lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being MaKayla Murphy, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Murphy has scored all season. Caylie Lyle was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
The win got Pike Valley back to even at 6-6. As for Natoma, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Pike Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Natoma, they will head out on the road to challenge Osborne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Osborne's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Natoma has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
