Bella McCarraher made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ella Watkins was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Mia Jernigan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Muhlenberg County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, McLean County came up short against Hopkins County Central on Tuesday, falling 8-2. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
McLean County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Muhlenberg County, their record now sits at 14-8.
McLean County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Muhlenberg County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for McLean County, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Muhlenberg County's hitters?
Muhlenberg County got the 'W' when the teams last played last Tuesday against McLean County by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
