Football Recap: Hernando Christian Academy Skates Past Geneva Classical Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hernando Christian Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Geneva Classical Academy Knights 72-24. The Lions have beaten the Knights the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Loss or not, Geneva Classical Academy got some senior leadership from Bennett Bayhan and Clay Lindsay. Bayhan picked up 263 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Lindsay threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns. Bayhan really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.

Hernando Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Geneva Classical Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Hernando Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on All Saints' Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Lions will need to watch out since the Saints have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Geneva Classical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
