The Westlake Demons will challenge the Buckeye Bucks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.1 runs per game this season.
Westlake will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Valley Forge on Monday. The Demons put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 20-1 win. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Cydney Loucka tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, Riley Knapp was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Horvath, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Westlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .690. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, while Buckeye put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Rocky River. The Bucks came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 4-0.
Not much got past Lilly Young, who gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Rocky River off the board. Young has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Faith Shaw was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Eleanor Shaw, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Westlake's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Buckeye, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Westlake has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Buckeye struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westlake might still be hurting after the 17-0 loss they got from Buckeye in their previous matchup on April 8th. Will the Demons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
