Basketball Recap: Clear Creek Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Clear Creek was riding high fresh off their 56-28 takedown of Jefferson on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golddiggers fell 56-44 to the Arrupe Jesuit Generals on Tuesday. The Golddiggers lost against the Generals in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-32 score last time.

Loss or not, Clear Creek got some senior leadership from Zephyr Schuessler and Ian Hendrickson. Schuessler almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards, while Hendrickson went 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds. The contest was Schuessler's fourth in a row with at least 18 points.

Arrupe Jesuit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yahir Pizarro led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to 16 boards and three steals. What's more, Pizarro also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Manuel Loya was another key player, scoring 13 points and seven steals.

Clear Creek dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clear Creek will take on West Grand in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
