After flying high against Atlantic Coast last Friday, Tocoi Creek came back down to earth. The Tocoi Creek Toros fell 50-43 to the Providence School Stallions on Monday. Tocoi Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Audrey Beyer, who posted 17 points and seven boards, and Asiana McCreary, who went 5 for 9 en route to 10 points and three blocks. Beyer is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last six games she's played. Gabi Iturralde was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kasey Davey, who scored 12 points along with eight boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Janie Boyd, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points and four steals.
Tocoi Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Providence School, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.
Tocoi Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-23 victory against Oakleaf on the 30th. As for Providence School, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-27 win against The Rock on the 31st.
