Baseball Recap: Badger Extends Winning Streak to Five

While Badger's win against Leetonia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Bears on Tuesday. Eight seems to be a good number for the Braves as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Lewis Flowers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler McWilliams, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Byren Wimsett, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Badger, bringing their record up to 6-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Leetonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
