Basketball Game Preview: South Fork Bulldogs vs. Centennial Eagles

South Fork hasn't had much luck against Centennial recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Both will face off at 6:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

South Fork is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-49 heartbreaker at the hands of Westwood. One positive for the Bulldogs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, South Fork saw an underclassman step up: freshman Vivianna Morales dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 16 boards, and ten blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morales has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Brooks, who posted eight points and four steals.

Even though they lost, South Fork was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Centennial entered their tilt with Vero Beach on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed by the Indians to the tune of 73-45. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season.

Centennial pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for South Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
