Basketball Recap: Memphis Central Has No Trouble Against Kingsbury

Memphis Central's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Kingsbury Falcons as the Memphis Central Warriors made off with a 45-20 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 25 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Kingsbury saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maleah Ward posted 18 points and seven boards. That was a full 90% of Kingsbury's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Memphis Central's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Kingsbury, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Memphis Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-39 defeat against Memphis East on the 16th. As for Kingsbury, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-27 victory against City University School of Liberal Arts on the 15th.
