The Boothbay Seahawks will head out on the road to face off against the Waynflete Flyers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Boothbay is ranked 48th, while Waynflete is ranked 26th).
Boothbay had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Lisbon with a 50-45 win on Saturday. Boothbay's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Boothbay's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Finn Harkins, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, and Luke Morley, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Meanwhile, Waynflete waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Sacopee Valley by a score of 63-50.
Boothbay's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Waynflete, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Boothbay strolled past Waynflete when the teams last played back in January by a score of 53-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boothbay since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
