Chenango Forks and the Warriors are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Chenango Forks Blue Devils will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Chenango Valley Warriors at 7:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Saturday, Chenango Forks took a serious blow against the Wolverines, falling 79-35. While losing is never fun, Chenango Forks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Wolverines are ranked 65th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Walker Paske, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Stephen Samsel was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Chenango Forks struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Chenango Valley was beaten by the Saints 71-35 on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chenango Valley has scored all season.
Chenango Forks has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Chenango Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
