Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Winter Park). They came out on top against the Bishop Moore Hornets by a score of 9-5 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Lindsey Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that she scored this season.
In other batting news, Rylie Scanlon was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Abby Summers also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
