The Blair Bears will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Gross Catholic Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on December 16th. Gross Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Blair, who comes in off a win.
Blair has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 30 points or more this season. They took their match on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 58-28 win over Hastings. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-11.
Among those leading the charge was Addie Sullivan, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Gueryn Kay, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Gross Catholic was the victim of a tough 71-46 defeat at the hands of Bennington on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Gross Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Bennington is ranked 23rd).
Blair's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Gross Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Blair strolled past Gross Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 50-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blair since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
