Baseball Recap: Belleview Wins Going Away Against Windermere Prep

Belleview won the last time they faced Windermere Prep and things went their way on Friday too. Belleview was the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Windermere Prep. Considering the Rattlers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Gifford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Belleview: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jordan Pinkerton was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Katcher Streit was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Belleview and bumps their season record up to 10-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Windermere Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Belleview will head out to take on Lake Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Windermere Prep, they will be playing at home against Lake Buena Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
