Two dominant guards in Celicia Robles and Delilah Lucero are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Prairie View Thunderhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain Range Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Prairie View and three for Mountain Range.
Prairie View suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 60-36 defeat at the hands of Legacy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Prairie View in their matchups with Legacy: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Mountain Range had to suffer through a rough 65-38 loss at the hands of Fairview. Mountain Range was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
Despite their loss, Mountain Range saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bella Lucero, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. Josieraye Running Wolf was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Prairie View's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Mountain Range, their loss was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-8.
Prairie View strolled past Mountain Range in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 52-35. Does Prairie View have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain Range turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
