Lutheran's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Air Academy on Friday. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Kadets a 5-0 shutout.
The result came thanks to Payden Joyce's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Hoy, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Wesolowski, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Cheyenne Mountain hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Cheyenne Mountain beat Lutheran 9-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Red-Tailed Hawks repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
