The Hubbard Eagles will take on the LaBrae Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Hubbard sitting on three straight wins and LaBrae on nine.
Hubbard not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 17-2). They put the hurt on Liberty with a sharp 16-2 victory.

Kaylee Schultz and Haleigh Taylor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Schultz struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Taylor tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Schultz has posted since back in March. At the plate, Schultz went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Taylor went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Lauren Komorek was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Songer, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Hubbard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, LaBrae had just enough and edged out Liberty 5-4 on Tuesday.
Like Hubbard, LaBrae also got a great game from a two-way player: Riley Rowe. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Rowe has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, LaBrae let Morgan Thompson and Leah DeArmitt run wild. Thompson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while DeArmitt went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
LaBrae pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Hubbard, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hubbard has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like LaBrae struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hubbard was able to grind out a solid victory over LaBrae in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 10-7. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
