David Carter and Bronche Johnson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Placer.
The Hillmen extended the longest winning streak in Pioneer Valley this week by beating Foothill, 68-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Bear River's dynamic duo of Dillon Smith and Tevyn Kimble proved tough for Colfax to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Smith threw for 243 yards and one touchdown and Kimble had 151 yards receiving. Michael Raigoza helped Bear River's passing attack out by catching three balls for 48 yards.
Cody Heard made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bruins defeated the Falcons. The 5-foot-8 senior recorded two fumbles.
Cameron Scott was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 100 yards as Joey Montoya's team topped Colfax. Teammate Michael Robinson added to the ground attack by rushing for 96 yards.
Tony Martello's team's Michael Wilson and Kyle Bryant have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wilson has thrown for 1568 yards this season, while Bryant has 31 catches for 603 yards. James Hubbard from Lincoln leads the league in rushing with 817 yards.
The top two teams in Pioneer Valley will face off this week when first place Placer takes on second place Bear River. Last week, the Hillmen defeated the Mustangs, while Scott Savoie/Terry Logue's team topped the Falcons.
The Bruins moved up to 360 from 417 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 24-14 win over Colfax helped Bear River improve its standing.
