Southwest EC's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jesus Trevi?o, who had 20 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Trevi?o is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.
Meanwhile, Imperial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calexico. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-15 in the first set.
Imperial started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15.
Southwest EC's defeat dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Imperial, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.
Southwest EC was able to grind out a solid victory over Imperial when the teams last played last Tuesday, winning 3-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
