The Cairo Pilots can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Martinsville with a 55-49 win.
Cairo was led to victory by Jeserick Pilgram and McKenlee Pirtle . Pilgram scored 19 points, while Pirtle scored 22 points. The contest was Pilgram 's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Cairo's win bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Martinsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Cairo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hamilton County at 6:15 p.m. on December 9th. Hamilton County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cairo in Illinois (Hamilton County is ranked 222nd, while Cairo is ranked 713th). As for Martinsville, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Lawrenceville at 6:00 p.m.
