The Clinton Christian Academy Warriors 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Pike. While losing is never fun, Clinton Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while South Pike is ranked 113th).
South Pike can attribute much of their success to Alaysha Williams, who scored seven points along with four steals. Amira Jackson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Clinton Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for South Pike, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Vicksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Pike will be home for the holidays to greet Brookhaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brookhaven focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
